Celebrate the season with an enchanting candlelight tour of the 1886 Jailhouse! Step back in time as the Jailhouse is beautifully adorned with winter greenery, ribbons, and ornaments - its halls softly lit by the warm glow of candlelight.
Discover the rich history of 19th-century holiday traditions, and enjoy a complimentary apple cider as you explore this festive setting. A cash bar will also be available for additional beverages. Family-friendly event! Kids are welcome and tour for free with a paying adult.

HOMESCHOOL: BUILDING STORIES
December 9th | 10:00-12:00 pm | 1889 Courthouse
This fall, homeschoolers ages 8-14 are invited to let their imagination run wild, turning their creative ideas into compelling stories. Through guided instruction, creative writing prompts, and examples of pieces from local writers, students will explore the fundamentals of storytelling – culminating in a final short story to take home and share. Durring this morning, homeschoolers will have a final reading party, sharing their short stories!

How can I tour the Jailhouse?
The best way to experience the 1886 Jailhouse is during a specialty tour - check for upcoming Wine & Wander events! Members receive exclusive access to The Tower Heritage Center's historic sites. Once a month, we host self-guided tours for members only.
Do you offer programs for homeschoolers?
The Tower Heritage Center offers a Fall and Spring homeschool unit study geared for ages 8-14. We know that not all classrooms have four walls, inviting homeschoolers once a month to engage in Washington County’s history through hands-on activities. With artifacts, stories, and immersive sites – we bring history to life, where it happened.
What is Young Entrepreneurs?
It's a summer program for teens to learn from experienced entrepreneurs, gain ideation skills and build a business proposal. Young Entrepreneurs is a 5-day certificate program offering an experience like no other. It’s the history and foundation of entrepreneurship in our community - inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.
