Planned Giving - A Future Gift for the Past
For more than 175 years, The Tower Heritage Center has served as the source of stories and materials connecting Washington County’s past, in the present.
Located in Washington County, Wisconsin, The Tower Heritage Center actively preserves four iconic 19th-century buildings. We’re committed to continuing stories - making them relevant for all generations.
By using your estate planning as a gifting tool, you can help to preserve the heritage of Washington County for future generations. There are multiple ways to give to the Tower Heritage Center through the Washington County Historical Society (the Society) or the Washington County Historical Society Foundation, Inc. (the Foundation).
How it Works
Step 1:
The first step is deciding whether you want to leave a gift either to the Society for specific projects or general expenses or if you want to leave a gift to the Foundation for ongoing support.
Step 2:
Once you have made that decision, you name the Society or the Foundation (or both!) in your Last Will and Testament or Living Trust Agreement, or as beneficiary under a retirement account, financial account, or life insurance policy. There can be significant tax advantages to using a qualified retirement account for your charitable giving.
Here is a list of example ways you can establish a future gift:
- Gift from a Will, Trust or Residuary Estate by including the Society or Foundation in your will or trust.
- Gift from a Retirement Plan or IRA by designating the Society or Foundation as a retirement account beneficiary.
- Gift of Life Insurance by designating the Society or Foundation as a life insurance beneficiary.
- Gift of Real Estate by designating the Society or Foundation as a beneficiary of real estate.
- Gift from a Charitable Trust allowing you to receive income during your lifetime with the Society or Foundation designated as the beneficiary or the reverse.
- Gift from a Bank or Brokerage Account by designating the Society or Foundation as a beneficiary.
Step 3:
Once you have established the gift, please contact us at the information below so that we can make a record of your generosity and, if necessary, provide contact details for our organization for the gift.
